Students will be able to explain the processes of solar and lunar eclipses and identify the positions of the Sun, Moon, and Earth during each event.
Materials Required

Black Kraftboard
-
White Kraftboard
-
White Printer Paper
Other tools and materials:
-
Black Pen
-
Glue
-
Split Pin Brads
-
Printer
Instructions
-
Cut the Kraftboard and cardstock on your machine. Print then cut the planets.
-
Stack and glue the large white circle and the large black star circle together.
-
Glue the Sun to the large circle on the large arm.
-
Glue the Moon to the small circle on the small arm.
-
Glue the Earth to the medium circle.
-
Place Brad through the hole in the sun arm and the center of the star circle.
-
Place brad through the earth and the opposite side of the moon arm, then through the other end of the sun arm.
Assessment
-
Students will complete a worksheet that includes labeling diagrams of solar and lunar eclipses, providing explanations for each eclipse type, and answering multiple-choice questions related to the positions of the Sun, Moon, and Earth.
